Lab Technician

• Independently perform and report laboratory findings
• Follow policies and procedures of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
• Comply with FDA, CAP, AABB, OSHA, CLIA and JCAHO regulations
• Facilitate quality patient care
• Work cooperatively with the healthcare delivery team and staff
• Respond quickly to emergency requests and changing workload demands

• Medical technology student currently enrolled in a hospital/university medical technology program
• No previous experience required
• Consistent with New Jersey Department of Health technical personnel qualifications, i.e. CLIA
• Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods
• Ability to work cooperatively with members of the healthcare delivery team and staff
• Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule
• Ability to set priorities, solve problems, and respond quickly to emergency requests
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Ability to assist in meeting the patient's needs

Demonstrates the ability to perform laboratory findings accurately while adhering to regulatory standards such as CLIA and FDA. Collaborates effectively with healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care and responds adeptly to changing workload demands.
