Human Resources Manager
Location: Northern New Jersey (In-Office)
Industry: Legal / Professional Services
Compensation: $115,000 – $130,000 per year
Position OverviewA prominent regional law firm is seeking a dedicated Human Resources Manager to lead firmwide HR functions. Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this role is essential in managing resource planning, recruitment, and employee relations to support the firm’s continued growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Support: Assist executive leadership in evaluating and improving firmwide HR policies and procedures.
- Talent Acquisition: Manage the full-cycle recruitment, hiring, and retention programs for support staff, ensuring compliance with state and federal employment laws.
- Staff Management: Oversee non-exempt personnel, including administrative and clerical staff, to ensure performance benchmarks and staffing ratios are met.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for conflict resolution, performance evaluations, and disciplinary procedures.
- Compliance & Benefits: Manage requests for leaves of absence and coordinate with the benefits team regarding 401(k) and profit-sharing plans.
- Onboarding: Facilitate the integration of new legal professionals and ensure job descriptions remain accurate and updated.
- Experience: Approximately 4+ years of progressive HR experience, specifically within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
- Certifications: Professional designations such as SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR are highly preferred.
- Technical
Skills:
High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience administering professional HR systems. - Competencies: Exceptional interpersonal skills, strong analytical abilities for complex problem-solving, and meticulous attention to detail.
