Position Summary
Provide wound, ostomy, and continence (WOC) nursing in the prevention, health maintenance, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitative and palliative nursing care to persons with select disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems. Directs efforts to improve quality of care to individuals of all ages directly through hands on care and indirectly as educators and consultation services.
EducationCurrent/valid state of NJ RN license (or legal permission to work from the NJ Board of Nursing). Completion of an accredited Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing (WOCN) full‑scope specialty education program with subsequent board certification in WOC from Wound, Ostomy, and Continence certification board (WOCNCB). If not currently certified, must be enrolled in the WOCN program and obtain certification within one year of hire.
Maintain recertification every (5) five years. Completion of general nursing orientation, CPR certification and unit‑based orientation. BLS required from American Heart Association.
Computer and keyboard skills. Medical terminology required.
SkillsPhysical and cognitive requirements: positions require a full range of body motion including physically assisting patients, stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, pushing and pulling. The position is classified as very heavy work, defined as exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, or 50 pounds frequently, or 20 pounds constantly to move objects. Manual and finger dexterity, hand‑eye coordination, and constant speaking and listening in English are required.
Effective oral and written communication skills, including speech clarity, understanding information relayed, deductive and inductive reasoning, and the ability to apply general rules to specific problems. Considerable walking, standing, sitting, reaching, filing, typing and photocopying are required. The ability to perform work accurately and attend to details, change tasks without loss of efficiency or composure, function competently in stressful situations, and work cooperatively within a multidisciplinary team is essential.
Effective time‑management skills to set priorities, problem‑solve, and deliver care are required.

The salary listed does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Pay Range: $47.80 - $59.75 (per hour)
