Position: Full Time Day Shift

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all orientation programs for newly appointed nursing staff, including ancillary personnel, meet regulatory requirements and current BNBMC policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the Education Supervisor and Nursing Administration to transfer staff, assess educational needs, and document educational plans.
  • Participate in the annual assessment of staff with identified learning needs and plan in‑services and programs accordingly.
  • Teach selected classes using adult learning principles and varied teaching methods, including electronic learning, and document educational activities.
  • Participate in and teach continuing nursing education programs that provide continuing education credit and enhance staff knowledge.
  • Collaborate with Nursing Administration to meet changing clinical requirements through education.
  • Write and develop curriculum that meets ANCC educational standards, establish a plan, and ensure systematic review of all programs.
  • Write department policies and procedures or collaborate with Clinical Departments.
  • Supervise direct nursing care when necessary for training or evaluation of orientees.
  • Effectively apply and teach patient safety principles.
  • Maintain clinical competence in the area of expertise.
  • Use the hospital computer system effectively and in accordance with policy.
  • Maintain accurate and current educational records, forward appropriate items to Human Resources, and prepare required reports.
  • Participate in assigned committees.
  • Demonstrate customer service by showing respect, flexibility, knowledge, confidence, professionalism, a pleasant attitude, patience, and helpfulness in timely, professional, caring, and respectful responses.
  • Maintain departmental policies, objectives, quality‑assurance programs, safety, environmental, and infection‑control standards.
  • Assess gaps in policies and procedures and create necessary updates.
  • Adhere to the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct.
  • Be familiar with the Mission, Vision, and Values Statements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Qualifications
  • Current New Jersey licensure as RN (required).
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
  • AHA Basic Life Support Instructor certification (required).
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required).
  • Certification in a specialty preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience in perioperative nursing (required).
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of adult learner teaching principles.
  • Clinical nursing skills and expertise.
  • Basic computer skills in Windows (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English to the required standard.
Education
  • BSN in Nursing (required).
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or related field (required).
Job Setting & Physical Demands

Work in well‑lit, temperature‑controlled, patient‑care, and teaching areas. Contact with patients, families, staff, and physicians. The noise level is usually moderate. Tasks are fast‑paced and may involve repeated standing or walking. Exposure to infections, environmental hazards, blood‑borne pathogens, dust, fumes, odors, mist, gases, biological, mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards. Adherence to a drug‑free and smoke‑free environment and OSHA mandates is required.

Salary

& Benefits

Hourly Rate: $46.94–$66.43
Weekend differential: $2.25 per hour
Evening differential: 10%
Night differential: 12%
Charge pay: $2.25 per hour
