OB Hypertension Educator, Family Care Services

Position Summary

Act as an educator/resource person for staff, physicians, and families throughout pregnancy, delivery, and the postpartum period. Provide hypertension management strategies and ensure appropriate education and understanding of the risks of high blood pressure during these phases. Coordinate with the medical team (physicians and RNs) to provide follow‑up care and navigate patients to suitable post‑discharge follow‑up. Fulfill the needs of patients in a variety of age groups, families, and the community by coordinating and providing educational activities in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements.

• Education
  : BSN degree and registered nurse with clinically relevant experience in labor and delivery or postoperative care; ANCC‑approved certification preferred.

  • Medical terminology knowledge

  • Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team (physicians, rehab, respiratory, DI, lab, etc.)
  • Time‑management and priority‑setting skills to respond quickly to emergencies
  • Critical thinking and clinical reasoning to problem‑solve and deliver care
  • Knowledge of hypertension and preeclampsia guidelines to educate patients and families about risks and interventions
• Licensure & Certification
  • Current RN license in New Jersey
  • CPR certification
  • Completion of unit‑based orientation including age and developmental competencies for the patient population served

Pay range: $50.18 – $62.73 per hour. Salaries vary based on experience, education, and licensure.
