American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a night shift position requiring NJ or Compact RN license and 2 years of Med/Surg Oncology experience.

• Inpatient Medical Surgical Oncology unit
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units required, including Ridgewood Observation Unit if assigned to this facility or the float pool
• Meditech EMR experience preferred

• Active NJ or Compact RN license
• 2 years of Med/Surg Oncology experience required (less than 2 years considered only with strong Oncology background)
• BLS certification required to start
• Prior travel nursing experience required, with no history of clinical or professional cancellations
• Current Nursys verification required
• Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination series and booster required
• One supervisory/manager reference dated within one year of assignment start required
• Skilled in IV therapy, infusions, and port access/management
• Experience with central line, implanted line, and PICC line care
• Experience administering blood and blood products
• Chemotherapy administration experience preferred
• Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia Exam with a minimum score of 80%, no retakes permitted
• Proficiency in EKG rhythm interpretation, heart rate calculations, and identification of atrial, ventricular, junctional, paced rhythms, and heart blocks

• Provide direct care to inpatient oncology patients, including chemotherapy administration and IV/port management
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are accepted at the local rate
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel assignment
• Begin required lab work within two business days of offer acceptance to avoid assignment cancellation
• Complete required orientation modules prior to start, with additional modules completed annually as needed
