Role DescriptionThe Retail Sales Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Paramus, NJ. This role is responsible for engaging walk-in customers, understanding their needs, and recommending Optimum products and services that best fit their households or businesses. Daily activities include explaining product features and pricing, demonstrating services, processing sales transactions, and assisting with account inquiries or changes. The Retail Sales Specialist will also handle basic troubleshooting, manage customer follow-ups, and ensure an organized, welcoming store environment.
This role works closely with store leadership and team members to meet individual and store sales goals while delivering a positive, solutions-focused customer experience.
- Strong Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills to build rapport, understand needs, and ensure a positive in-store experience.
- Proven Retail Sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Solid Communication skills, including clear verbal explanation of products, pricing, and promotions.
- Product Knowledge or the ability to quickly learn and explain internet, mobile, TV, and phone solutions.
- Ability to work on-site in Paramus, NJ, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Comfort using point-of-sale systems, basic computer applications, and customer account tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in telecommunications or consumer electronics is a plus.
- Team-oriented mindset, reliability, and a commitment to ethical, inclusive, and respectful customer interactions.
