This is a full-time, on-site Store Manager role located in Paramus, NJ. The Store Manager oversees daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, inventory management, and visual merchandising to ensure an appealing and organized sales floor. This role leads, trains, and schedules store team members, providing regular coaching and feedback to support performance, service quality, and adherence to company policies.
The Store Manager drives sales by monitoring key performance indicators, implementing promotional activities, and ensuring that every customer receives welcoming, knowledgeable, and efficient service. The role also involves resolving customer concerns, maintaining store safety and cleanliness standards, preparing basic reports, and partnering with regional leadership to execute brand initiatives and operational improvements.
- Retail operations skills, including cash handling, inventory control, stock replenishment, and store opening/closing procedures.
- People leadership skills, including team supervision, coaching, scheduling, and performance feedback in a retail environment.
- Customer service and sales skills, with the ability to build rapport, handle complaints, and drive conversion and average transaction value.
- Visual merchandising and product presentation skills, ensuring displays, signage, and floor sets align with brand standards.
- Organizational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and resolve day‑to‑day operational issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate expectations clearly and collaborate with cross‑functional partners.
- Proficiency with basic point-of-sale systems and comfort using spreadsheets or reporting tools to track store performance.
- Previous experience as a store manager or supervisor in retail, preferably in footwear, apparel, or related consumer goods.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by store operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, retail management, or a related field is a plus.
