Overview

In the Nordstrom Beauty Department, our mission is to create personalized beauty experiences for customers and foster a passionate team that values unique skills. The role involves engaging customers to understand their needs and maximizing sales in on‑trend & luxury beauty brands.

• Conduct makeup applications and skincare analyses; recommend products based on customers’ beauty goals.
• Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers.
• Set and achieve sales goals, both in‑store and via digital tools (including text and social media).
• Book appointments and drive sales for in‑store Beauty events and services.
• Maintain department readiness through organization and cleanliness.
• Stay up to date with the latest beauty trends, products, and industry knowledge through provided trainings.
• Manage sales transactions, refunds, exchanges, and build customer loyalty through Nordstrom Rewards program accounts.
• Work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings and weekends.

• Passion for customer service and beauty, including trends, makeup application, and skincare.
• Excellent ability to connect with customers, proactively handle concerns, and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Empathy and respect for all customers, creating a supportive environment during makeup and skincare application.
• Strong multitasking, organization, and follow‑through skills.
• Drive to achieve sales goals and interest in using networking and technology.

• Continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Handle bulky or awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting items above the head.
• Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Hourly: $23.35 – $24.30. Commission for apparel, shoes, accessories ranges from 3% to 14.5%;
Beauty and Men’s Fragrance sales typically receive 3%. Performance‑based incentives/bonuses may be available.
