Job OverviewAs a Furniture Sales Colleague (also known as a Big Ticket Colleague), you are at the forefront of creating exceptional shopping experiences in our Furniture department. Your responsibilities include building lasting customer relationships, achieving sales goals, promoting protection plans, managing return rates, and encouraging engagement with our loyalty program. You will also support inventory and fulfillment activities, use technology to visualize purchases, place orders, and compare products, and maintain customer contact throughout delivery to resolve issues and ensure satisfaction.

- Review sales goals, new arrivals and top‑selling items, and stay up‑to‑date on trends, promotions, and current offers.
- Focus on the customer by offering a warm welcome, maintaining eye contact, and building personal conversations to create lasting relationships.
- Maintain a shoppable space by recovering the floor, updating signs and pricing, and supporting necessary merchandise moves.
- Finish strong by sharing loyalty program benefits, ensuring customers have everything they need, and ending with a sincere thank‑you.
- Keep in touch with customers through the pre‑ and post‑delivery process to ensure a positive experience.
- Support one another with honesty, care, and collaboration for the benefit of our customers and communities.
- Continuously strive for excellence by improving, achieving sales goals, and learning from each other to deliver results.
- Flexible availability: days, evenings, weekends, and holidays with dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Strong communication skills – able to understand, communicate, and collaborate with customers, co‑workers, and supervisors.
- Capable of reading and understanding employment policies and safety rules in English.
- Comfortable using electronic devices and technology, including handheld equipment and cash register systems.
- Meeting daily sales goal challenges along with client and protection‑plan goals.
- Responsible for acquiring new customers by opening credit accounts and sharing loyalty benefits.
- Enjoy meeting people, learning about them, and sharing information.
- Resourceful, eager to start a new venture, adaptable to changing priorities, and able to work independently and in teams.
- 1–2 years of related experience (or equivalent) required.
Physical Requirements
- Talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.
- Standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 25 lbs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, and reaching above eye level.
- Requires good vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash register systems, to process transactions.
