Worldwide Logistics Inc. is looking for an experienced logistics coordinator with a domestic background. As a Logistics Coordinator you will work with internal sales/pricing staff and our curated list of vendors and offices across the globe. You will play a crucial role in facilitating the transportation of goods for our customers. You will be responsible for quoting transportation options, coordinating shipments and building relationships with both customers.
This position requires a keen attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer Communication and Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with customers to foster long-term partnerships and enhance customer satisfaction. Communicate effectively with customers to understand their requirements, address inquiries, and resolve any issues that may arise. Serve as the primary point of contact for logistics-related inquiries from internal teams, suppliers, and customers. Coordinate with various departments, including Carrier Sales, salesperson, and warehouse teams, to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Quoting and Coordinating Shipments: Assess customers transportation needs and provide quotes for various modes of transportation. Work closely with the Carrier sales team to ensure timely dispatch of new orders. Monitor logistics expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Shipment Tracking and Customer Updates: Work closely with the Support team to track shipments throughout the transportation process and provide regular updates to customers regarding the status of their orders.
- Market Understanding: Continuously learn and understand market dynamics, including pricing trends.
- 2+ years freight brokerage/logistics experience
- Hands-on LTL and TL/FTL experience
- Experience with drayage and/or air freight
- TMS experience
- Quoting and carrier rate negotiation
- Customer-facing experience
- Track & trace
- Understanding of LTL classification/NMFC/density
- Strong Excel skills - including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and basic reporting
- Ability to independently manage a shipment from quote through delivery
- Experience with claims/OS&D
- Experience with international shipments
- Experience with ocean/steamship lines
- Experience with freight auditing and invoice/charge discrepancy resolution
