The Plant Controller is responsible for providing high‑level accounting support to our Paris, IL manufacturing plant. This role will play a key role in the finance department, providing expertise and leadership in various accounting and financial functions. With a strong background in accounting principles and experience in the manufacturing industry, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, analyzing financial data, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to support business decisions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Lead the month‑end and year‑end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Perform complex reconciliations for accounts such as inventory, intercompany transactions, and revenue recognition.
- Assist in developing and managing the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to support strategic decision‑making.
- Review and analyze variances between actual financial results and budgeted targets, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the preparation of financial data for audits and liaise with external auditors.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance department.
- Participate in cost analysis and provide recommendations for cost‑saving initiatives.
- Collaborate with the cost accounting team to analyze product costs and recommend cost‑saving strategies.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and industry trends and implement best practices accordingly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4 plus years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and lead a project team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus but not mandatory.
The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $110,000‑$125,000 + bonus + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
