Horizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL & a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. Position Summary

The Director of Diagnostic Imaging is responsible for high-level supervision of staffing, scheduling, and staff Performance Appraisals. The Director of Diagnostic imaging sets the Performance Standards, maintains equipment, creates policy/procedures, prepares the budget, planning of future projects and innovates to grow the department, maintains compliance with regulatory standards, provides education to the staff, and builds strong communication in the department, between departments, and with administration.

Maintains consistent workflow and organization of department. Must exhibit good independent judgement, initiative, creativity, and team-building skills.

Essential Functions
  • Demonstrates knowledge of departmental policies and procedures, Exposure Control Plan, MSDS book, and Safety/Infection Control.
  • Works with the Radiology Staff Manager to organize daily workload to maintain an efficient flow of department activity: daily activity reports, P.S., variances, staffing schedules, etc.
  • Achieves maximum utilization of time and assets; looks for opportunity to improve productivity.
  • Communicates between hospital and department staff and disseminates essential information with accuracy to ensure proper patient care and in meeting hospital procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and proper usage of equipment
  • Understands, develops, interprets, and adheres to hospital policy and procedures. Interprets policies for personnel, patients, and visitors.
  • Displays awareness of department functions and the proper procedures required to utilize those functions.
  • Assists in planning, coordinating, and conducting in-services and continuing education programs to meet staff needs.
  • Has the knowledge and technical skills to provide appropriate care to patients of all ages: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
  • Demonstrates ability to be an effective leader. Works effectively with others to help them accomplish objectives.
  • Prepares the budget for the Imaging department.
  • Prepares invoice check requests and works with the Purchasing department to obtain appropriate POs to pay Imaging department vendors in a timely fashion.
  • The Director of Diagnostic Imaging and the RSO support the Radiology Staff Manager to maintain a Radiation dose monitoring program in accordance with ALARA principles.
  • The responsibilities listed above are not all-inclusive; other activities may be required in support of the hospital’s goals and objectives.

    Position Requirements
    • Minimum of BS degree in Medical Technical/ Management Field - MS preferred.
    • Registered as a technologist in an imaging modality (multiple registries preferred) or registered radiology administrator.
    • Possess excellent communicative, organizational, and.teaching skills to facilitate the building of an effective radiology team.
    • Good background knowledge of x-ray and imaging modalities.
    • Three (3) years' experience in supervision/management.
    • IEMA License
    • IONS License
    • ARRT Registered
    Pay Range

    Pay ranges from $101,153k to 161,845k (rate of pay is based on applicable years of experience)
