Team Lead Operator – Weekend Shift (Drys Department)

Avantor is seeking a Team Lead Operator to safely manufacture chemical products and lead a team during the weekend shift.

Friday – Sunday, 6:00AM to 6:00PM (Weekends).

• Perform manufacturing and assembly of products in accordance with written production records while observing safety guidelines.
• Assist with production scheduling.
• Review and recommend changes to technical documentation, including batch records, work instructions, and SOPs.
• Operate semi‑automated and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Weigh and measure chemical raw materials to ensure batches contain proper materials and quantities.
• Maintain accurate production records, complying with ISO
  9001:2000, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Operate material monitoring devices such as pH systems, refractometers, and weighing systems, including calibration, cleaning, and upkeep.
• Use safety and environmental control systems, including dust collection and scrubbing devices, ensuring proper operation and upkeep.
• Maintain equipment and rooms in proper condition by following daily cleaning requirements.
• Perform in‑process testing to verify batches meet specifications.
• Train associates and evaluate progress on equipment operation and chemical processes, emphasizing safety procedures and proper material handling.
• Provide leadership and promote good work ethics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma required; associate’s degree in life science, engineering, or related discipline preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment.
• General understanding of semi‑automated and/or automated equipment.
• Knowledge of computer applications desirable.
• Ability to evaluate internal customer needs and respond appropriately.

Employees frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, dust, gases, and occasionally toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise levels are moderate. The role requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, crouching, kneeling, balancing, pushing/pulling, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance. Repetitive hand use. Requires close, peripheral, and depth vision.
