About us

Owkin is an AI company on a mission to solve the complexity of biology. It is building the first Biology Super Intelligence (BASI) by combining powerful biological large language models, multimodal patient data, and agentic software. At the heart of this system is Owkin K, an AI copilot and its new LLM fine‑tuned on biology called Owkin Zero, used by researchers, clinicians, and drug developers to better understand biology, validate scientific hypotheses, and deliver better diagnostics and therapies faster.

Position is based on‑site, in our Paris Bio Labs located in the 14th District.

Please submit your CV in English.

About the role

Owkin is currently recruiting a Laboratory Technician to join our Biomedical team. The successful candidate will be a driven, experienced cellular biologist who is enthusiastic about supporting the translational work at Owkin focusing on isolating and biobanking primary cells/organoids from human samples, performing screening assays, and delivering high quality data.

The best person for this role is exceptionally rigorous and meticulous in experimental execution, is flexible, and has a demonstrated ability to work in multi‑disciplinary collaborations involving a high level of teamwork. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your in‑depth knowledge and technical hands‑on skills to our growing Biomedical department and support Owkin's discovery pipeline.

This is a 5‑6‑month fixed‑term role starting mid‑July 2026.

In particular, you will:
  • Carry out cell line and patient‑derived biobanking, and related experiments (2D and 3D) according to the protocols and the standard operating procedures (SOPs) developed by the team for modeling disease biology.
  • Help to coordinate the generation of large datasets with cutting‑edge high‑throughput spatial transcriptomics methods and ensure consistent practices and SOP compliance throughout partner laboratories.
  • Contribute to the SOP writing and updating in collaboration with senior team members.
  • Maintain accurate electronic laboratory notebooks in a timely fashion and prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, etc. Manage and update ELN inventories and databases.
  • Report experimental results orally to the Team, Program leads and Biomedical department in regular meetings.
  • Document deviations from the protocol / experimental plan and operating methods and inform the Lab Director.
  • Execution of general molecular and cellular biology techniques (RNA/DNA work, RT‑qPCR, FACS, IHC/IF, IF imaging acquisition for viability/proliferation readouts, high content imaging,…) to generate omics data from in vitro models is a plus.
  • Execution of genetic and drug perturbations experiments to study novel oncology/immuno‑oncology targets is a plus.
About you

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent (BTS, DUT, Licence) in molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 2‑3 years experience working ideally in an industrial setting, with the following technical and scientific capabilities:
    • Isolating and handling blood and solid tumour donor‑derived cells and performing cell culture and flow cytometry based assays (cell death assays, cell cycle determination and multicolor staining).
    • Setting up co‑culture assays of cancer and immune cells.
    • Establishing 3D model systems (matrix‑attached models, spheroids and/or organoids) using primary cells.
    • Performing plate‑based functional assays such as cell viability assays (e.g. CTG), apoptosis assays (e.g. Caspase‑3), etc.
    • Imaging 2D and/or 3D cultures and acquiring fluorescence and bright field microscopy images is a plus.

Skills &

Competencies:

  • General understanding of cancer biology and related immunology, coupled with comprehension of the crucial steps of target validation.
  • Curiosity:
You are driven to understand how components fit together within a complex system.
  • Proactively scouts for and evaluates technical developments in the field of disease tumor models.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present research succinctly to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
