Principal Faculty (Physician Assistant Program)
Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility:Teach as assigned by the Academic Director, and remediation of PA students.
Under the general direction of Program Director
Under the direct supervision of Academic Director
Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Develop, review, and revise as necessary the program’s mission statement, goals, and competencies
Select applicants for admissions to the PA Program
Provide student instruction.
Provide academic counseling of students
Assure the availability for remedial instruction
Design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate the PA Program curriculum.
Evaluate the PA Program
Participate in assigned committee meetings.
Ensure/maintain the confidentiality of student information.
Perform related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed

The candidate must be a graduate of an accredited PA Program and possess a graduate degree in Physician Assistant Studies or comparable degree.
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience. The ability to work collaboratively is essential.
Applicants must demonstrate strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Candidates must also: exhibit abilities in planning and organization; possess a solid work ethic and a positive attitude; be resourceful and computer literate. Some travel is required.
The candidate must be NCCPA certified with appropriate clinical practice experience, and hold a current PA license in Tennessee or be eligible for licensure.

The ideal candidate has experience educating PA students either as a clinical preceptor or as a faculty member.
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience.
The ideal candidate must be NCCPA certified with appropriate clinical practice experience, and hold a current PA license in Tennessee or be eligible for licensure.
Physical Requirements:
Work requires light physical exertion (up to 30 pounds) on a frequent basis (up to 50% of time) or continuous walking; or moderate physical exertion (up to 50 pounds) on an occasional basis up to 15% of time); or heavy physical exertion (over 50 pounds) on an intermittent basis (not a routine part of the job).
Environmental Conditions:
Work is performed under basically normal working conditions as in a standard office and classroom environment.
