Role Summary

The Assistant Manager assists in the overall operation of the theatre, ensuring that policies, procedures and operational standards are followed. Assistant Managers are cross‑trained in all departments and provide inspirational training to all employees. Successful performance can lead to advanced roles such as Senior Assistant Manager, Theatre Manager or General Manager upon completion of the Management Accreditation Program and a minimum of six months in the position.

Responsibilities
  • Follows the direction of the General Manager.
  • Supports General Manager’s decisions in communication with the staff.
  • Works across all departments and theatre job functions.
  • Trains and coaches team members in their specific job functions.
  • Assists in preparing administrative and special reports for the General Manager.
  • Observes and participates in inspections of the theatre building, parking lot, landscaping, property, roof, signage and equipment condition.
  • Reports building, property and equipment repair needs.
  • Enforces dress code compliance.
  • Interacts with guests to improve service and ensures superior customer service from team members.
  • Adheres to policies and procedures established in Cinemark’s Guidelines, enforcing them fairly and consistently.
  • Reports employee‑relations issues as required.
  • Maintains high work‑ethic standards and code of conduct.
  • Consistently identifies and sanitizes high‑contact areas and uses personal protective equipment as required.
  • Adapts to the frequency and scope of required cleaning tasks.
  • Addresses safety or security issues such as trip hazards, lighting or suspicious persons.
  • Performs other work‑related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school or G.E.D. graduate preferred.
  • Completion of three basic courses in Cinemark’s Management Accreditation Program.
  • Completion of basic food‑handling training and required local or state certifications.
  • Completion of Safe Alcohol Service training for staff working with alcohol.
  • Availability for flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Reliable attendance.
  • Energetic and friendly attitude during each shift.
  • Excellent guest service skills.
  • Accurate cash handling and basic math skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with all ages, genders and personalities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Responsiveness to challenges.
  • Strong time‑management, organization and attention to detail.
  • Leadership and training ability.
  • Conflict‑resolution skills.
Physical And Environmental Requirements
  • Frequent bending, kneeling and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking and reaching around the theatre.
  • Noise may be moderate to high at times.
  • Extended periods of standing may be required.
