Under the general supervision of the School Principal, develop students' skills and competence in basic and complex mathematical principles, equations, formulas, and calculations, and foster an understanding of the application of mathematics in solving practical problems.

• Develop and administer a mathematics curriculum aligned with district goals and objectives.
• Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small‑group instruction.
• Create lesson plans and instructional materials, translating them into learning experiences that develop sequential assignments, challenge students, and maximize instructional time.
• Teach mathematical knowledge and skills, including real and imaginary numbers, formulas, calculations, geometry, and creative analysis.
• Design learning activities that demonstrate the application of mathematics to everyday problem‑solving.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, modifying instruction to meet individual needs, including students with special needs.
• Maintain familiarity with district and Connecticut State standardized tests to adapt curriculum for maximum achievement.
• Continuously acquire professional knowledge through seminars, workshops, professional meetings, or research.
• Organize and maintain accurate records of student activities, achievement, and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
• Encourage parental involvement and ensure effective communication with students and parents.
• Ensure student conduct conforms to school and district policies, establishing standards of behavior for a functional learning atmosphere.
• Coordinate with other professional staff, especially within grade level, and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
• Select, requisition, and maintain inventory records for appropriate books, instructional aids, and equipment.

Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and central office administrators.

• Knowledge of current teaching methods, educational pedagogy, and differentiated instruction.
• Knowledge of a broad range of mathematics subjects, including arithmetic, calculus, trigonometry, geometry, and related areas.
• Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and action plan formulation.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state education laws.
• Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed.
• Ability to organize and coordinate work.
• Effective communication with students and parents.
• Engagement in self‑evaluation for performance and professional growth.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

• Texas State Certification as a Mathematics Education Teacher.
• Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an education discipline applicable to the teaching assignment.

Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
