Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position are to serve as the senior instructional and administrative authority for the Fire Academy. Is responsible for regulatory compliance, instructor oversight, curriculum delivery, records management, and liaison with the Texas Commission on Fire Protection.

Qualifications:

Applicant must have a Texas Commission on Fire Protection Fire Service Instructor III certification required. Associate or Bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Emergency Services, or related field preferred. Certification in the discipline(s) taught (e.g., Fire Fighter I & II) required. Experience delivering fire service training in a structured academy environment required. Prior experience as a Training Officer or Academy Director preferred.

Endorse the concept of community college education. Computer literate. Good communication skills, both orally and in writing. Good organizational skills (organize and prioritize). Sound knowledge of principles and theory of teaching. Ability to maintain records in compliance with 37 TAC §427.13.

Salary:
The salary for this position is based upon education and experience on the Paris Junior College Faculty Salary Schedule.

Fringe Benefits:
This position covers health insurance at 100% for employee. Additional optional coverages include dental, vision, AD&D, life insurance, and long- and short-term disability. Other benefits include retirement under the Teacher Retirement System of Texas or Optional Retirement Program, accrued sick leave, paid holidays, and an employee reimbursement/dependent scholarship program. Health benefits require a 60-day employment period.
