Training & Competency Coordinator

Our client is delivering a major industrial energy infrastructure project in Europe, supporting the transition toward low-carbon energy solutions.

As the project progresses through the Commissioning & Operational Readiness phase, an experienced Training & Competency Coordinator is required to establish and implement the Operations & Maintenance Training and Competency Assurance Program. This position will play a key role in ensuring that personnel are fully trained, assessed and operationally ready before plant handover and start-up.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, coordinating and maintaining training and competency programs covering Operations, Maintenance and Technical personnel. Working closely with project teams, OEMs, licensors and Operations stakeholders, you will ensure workforce readiness across Power Generation, Carbon Capture and Compression facilities.

• Develop the overall training strategy, competency framework and training matrix
• Define role-based training requirements and competency standards for Operations and Maintenance teams
• Identify competency gaps and implement training plans to support workforce readiness
• Coordinate OEM, vendor and licensor training activities across all plant systems
• Develop and manage training schedules, training records and documentation
• Ensure contractual training obligations are delivered and completed on time

• Implement competency assessment processes including knowledge, practical and authorization assessments
• Maintain competency records, certifications and qualification tracking
• Support the development of personnel certification and authorization processes

• Coordinate training delivery throughout commissioning and start-up phases
• Ensure personnel are trained and competent prior to system handovers
• Monitor training completion, readiness dashboards and workforce mobilization activities

• Manage mandatory compliance training and audit-ready training records
• Coordinate refresher training and certification renewals
• Support compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Training, Competency Assurance, Learning & Development or Workforce Readiness within industrial environments
• Experience in Power Generation, Carbon Capture, LNG, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas or other process industries
• Proven involvement in commissioning, start-up or operational readiness projects
• Experience developing training matrices, competency frameworks and assessment programs
• Strong experience coordinating OEM and vendor training activities
• Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training record management
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and organizational skills

• Fluent English and French (mandatory)
