Solar Field Service Lead; Paris, TX

Position

SOLV Energy – Field Service Technician, full‑time, on site in Paris, TX.

• Preform, direct, and supervise site maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of solar equipment.
• Ensure safety compliance and enforce company and industry standards.
• Implement repairs to unfamiliar solar systems with minimal training.
• Supervise and provide ongoing training for Solar Technician levels I–IV.
• Prepare timely and accurate documentation and required reports related to site operation.
• Assess and suggest process improvements, coordinate with EPC management.
• Respond “on‑call” for emergency equipment repairs as directed by supervisor.
• Collaborate with PM, management, OCC, HV, SCADA, Performance, Networking/IT, Compliance teams.
• Assist in owner and asset manager communications, including conference calls and meetings.
• Work with vendors and manage contract scope regarding electrical, landscaping, module washing, etc.
• Maintain leadership qualities to inspire technology staff and O&M environment.

• High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training a plus.
• Minimum four years of experience in solar facility maintenance and repair.
• Advanced computer operation skills; experience with system monitoring applications.
• Advanced knowledge of solar systems, protection devices, control devices, power supplies, loads, conductors, inverters, and transformers.
• Ability to troubleshoot network and telemetry issues.
• Pass exams on international/domestic electrical schematics, electrical troubleshooting, and reading hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams.
• Valid OSHA 30 certification and NFPA 70e safety training certification.
• Current in all safety and technical trainings.
• Self‑sufficient, safe under all conditions.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills; ability to work with multiple teams.
• Capacity to work at remote locations in extreme weather; ability to work on an “on‑call” basis.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory record; ability to operate company vehicle.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for training, certifications, and site coverage.
• Ability to perform monthly reporting, maintain site‑specific schedules, prioritize response levels, and manage risks.
• Capability to interact with asset managers and owners, provide detailed cost estimates, and collaborate with vendors.
• Knowledge of safety aspects of contractors on site; ability to handle security or safety issues.

Exposure to weather, harsh outdoor environment, vibration, dust, fumes, electric shock, radiation, toxic chemicals. requires stooping, bending, reaching, handling, lifting 50 lbs. or more. Requires constant finger dexterity, visual detail at close range and distance, hearing, speaking, depth perception. May involve occasional climbing, carrying, proximity to moving mechanical parts, work in high or exposed locations. Noise intensity may be high.
