Transportation Engineer I or II

The Paris District is seeking a highly motivated and well-rounded individual to join our team in the Paris District Headquarters. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to essential transportation projects that improve safety and mobility across the region. A Transportation Engineer I or II work alongside other experienced Engineers and support our District in delivering solutions to make the roadway safer for all Texans.

This role offers exciting, hands-on experience in shaping the future of Texas' transportation system. This job opening is for one Transportation Engineer I or II depending on business need and applicant's qualifications and experience. Qualification and experience will determine the applicant's position and pay.

Transportation Engineer I – B24 | $65,104 - $106,634 yearly

Transportation Engineer II – B25 | $69,572 - $114,099 yearly

Position Description

Transportation Engineer I:

Performs transportation engineering work in one or more functional areas such as planning, project development and design, construction, transportation/traffic operations and/or maintenance. Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines. Work requires contact with governmental officials and private entities. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details.

Transportation Engineer II:

Performs complex transportation engineering work in one or more functional areas such as planning, project development and design, construction, transportation/traffic operations and/or maintenance. Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines. Work requires contact with governmental officials and private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related science bachelor's or higher degree accepted by TX PELS.

Experience:

Transportation Engineer I: 4 years engineering, transportation engineering, or related engineering experience

Transportation Engineer II: 5 years engineering, transportation engineering, or related engineering experience (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
