PRN

• Perform venipunctures and skin punctures on hospital patients.
• Assist in reviewing lab results and alert Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor or Director of Nursing as needed.
• Responsibilities include blood specimen collection, including blood cultures.

Applicants should be a high school graduate or equivalent. Additional requirements include:

• Formal phlebotomy training as required by state.
• Medical assistant or phlebotomy certification preferred, and valid state clinical lab scientist certification as required by state.
• Six (6) months of acute phlebotomy experience or one (1) year of experience as a medical assistant performing venipuncture or one (1) year of outpatient lab experience preferred.
