Job Title

Assists surgeon during operative and invasive procedures. Ensures operating suite is adequately prepared for procedure. Monitor PAR level of all surgical instruments and supplies. Cleans and sterilizes surgical instruments. Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned.

Regulatory Requirements:

Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.

Current BLS Certification.

Operating Room Technician Certification or experience prior to 9/1/09 required. A graduate of an accredited educational program for surgical technologists must receive certification by the 180th day after the date the person graduates from the program. This certification must occur to maintain employment.

Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in the Operating Room, preferred.
