Human Resources Intern Year-Round - Paris

Join our Paris HR team and gain hands-on experience in Human Resources while making a meaningful impact on the workforce that keeps Texas moving. As an HR Intern, you will work closely with an experienced onsite HR team, receiving guidance and exposure to a wide range of HR functions, while also collaborating with a larger network of HR interns on special projects, professional development opportunities, and statewide initiatives.

This role offers valuable real-world experience in employee record management, data entry, hiring and recruitment support, new employee orientation, and other key HR programs that contribute to the success of our employees and organization. Whether you're interested in talent acquisition, employee relations, HR operations, or organizational development, this internship provides a unique opportunity to build your skills, expand your professional network, and see firsthand how Human Resources helps shape an engaged and successful workforce.

Minimum Salary: $18.00

Maximum Salary: $20.00

Position Description

Performs entry-level administrative support work. Work involves performing a wide range of administrative and office support work for the department. Employees at this level perform assignments following specific instructions and are subject to frequent review by the immediate supervisor. Essential Duties:

  • Answers the telephone, evaluates requests, answers questions, and routes messages.
  • Assists in maintaining confidential information and records; this includes data review and entry.
  • Assists in processing routine documents such as personnel records.
  • Maintains personnel files and records in a digital database and physical files.
  • Assists in performing inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment for the HR office.
  • Makes copies and distributes as instructed.
  • Opens, sorts, and distributes mail.
  • Performs preliminary research on assignments and gathers pertinent data.
  • Performs routine word processing duties and conducts quality checks of documents created.
  • Runs errands as required.
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Must be a student in high school or other educational institution or accepted into a college, university or educational institution.

Other Conditions:
Must be at least 16 years of age, a student currently enrolled in high school or any institution of higher education to include a trade/vocational school. Employees at least 18 years of age with valid driver's license may be assigned driving duties and may use power tools.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Subject to environmental conditions; protection from weather but not temperature changes

Light work:
Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs

Sitting - prolonged periods of time

Standing-prolonged periods of time

Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers

Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
