Maintenance Supervisor - Streets

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Supervise and evaluate street department employees
• Ensures the safe and productive use of equipment utilized in associated repair work
• Ensures all proper training and direction is provided for subordinates in the use, care maintenance of tools and equipment
• Oversee construction and maintenance work to determine acceptability and conformance to standard
• Perform periodic inspections of all work in progress
• Inspect detected deterioration, repair and maintenance of road conditions and evaluate recommendations for corrective measures
• Interpret complex assignments to staff and assigns duties to crews of varying sizes and skills
• Establish and adjust work procedures to meet schedules
• Requisition materials and supplies for projects and coordinates the efficient use of workers, resources and equipment
• Ensure the location of gas, telephone, power, television, water from appropriate sources prior to excavation and inform crews of such locations
• Function in severe weather conditions and ability to respond to hazard/risky situations and direct mitigation efforts in emergencies
• Perform other duties as directed
