The overall objective of this assignment is to support the delivery, quality and policy relevance of the climate and clean air coalition's (ccac) science products, ensuring that they are scientifically robust, strategically aligned, and translated into actionable insights for policymakers and partners. The ccac programme manager (science affairs) will contribute to the timely development and dissemination of ccac scientific assessments and analytical outputs, while strengthening the science-policy interface through engagement with the sap, partners and key stakeholders.

Duties and responsibilities

The climate and clean air coalition (ccac) is a partnership of governments, intergovernmental organizations, and representatives of the private sector, the environmental community, and other members of civil society. The ccac is the only international initiative working on integrated climate and clean air solutions to reduce the rate of near-term warming. It focuses on fast actions to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants (slcps) including methane, black carbon, hfcs and tropospheric ozone.

the ccac science affairs team plays a central role in supporting the coalition's science-policy interface by coordinating scientific advisory activities, supporting major global assessments, and translating scientific findings into policy-relevant insights and analytical tools that support partner decision-making. The programme manager (science affairs) will support the development and delivery of the climate and clean air coalition's scientific outputs. The role contributes to the coordination of flagship scientific assessments, publications, and other analytical products, ensuring that ccac activities are informed by robust and policy-relevant evidence.

The position also supports collaboration with contributing scientists and partner organisations, facilitates the preparation and review of science products, and helps strengthen the interface between science and policy by ensuring that ccac strategies and engagement are grounded in the latest climate and air pollution science. Objectives:
1. Delivery of high-quality, policy-relevant scientific products (e.g. Assessments, science briefs, and analytical outputs) in line with agreed timelines and unep publication standards.
2. Effective coordination of scientific inputs and review processes, including contributions from authors, reviewers, and partner organizations.
3. Strengthened sap engagement, including well-prepared meetings and clear, actionable outputs (e.g. Chair's summaries, briefs). 4. Enhanced science-policy integration through contributions to science-policy dialogues (spds), outreach activities, and alignment of science outputs with ccac strategic priorities. 5. Ad hoc support as part of the ccac secretariat team specific tasks and responsibilities
1. Delivery of super pollutant science products - ensure delivery of scientific assessments and publications, including project management and tracking progress in line with unep publication requirements - support coordination with contributing authors and partner organisations involved in ccac assessments and science products, including facilitating review processes and consolidating technical inputs.

- support the development of science products, including assessments, guidance documents, science briefs and other analytical outputs, by acting as an expert reviewer, identifying emerging topics of interest, and ensuring alignment with ccac strategies.
