Field Mechanic

Overview

We are looking for a FIELD MECHANIC to join our shop's team. As a Field Mechanic with Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mobile heavy equipment and supporting plant maintenance.

• Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication) on heavy equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools and specialized equipment to troubleshoot and repair machinery.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs and report major issues to senior mechanics or supervisors.
• Strong Diagnostic Skills
• Ability to read and understand Hydraulic Schematics
• Spot symptoms of cavitation, aeration, stuck valves, and pump failure
• Refrigerant knowledge
• Component testing and replacement skills
• Leak detection and repair skills
• Ability to identify slow/ weak hydraulics
• Ability to use pressure gauges and flow meters
• Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams

• A high school diploma or GED.
• A minimum of one year of technical school training or equivalent hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
• Experience repairing diesel and gas engines.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems and fundamental electrical repair skills.
• Willing to obtain and med card.
