Job Title
Cage Cashier
Job PurposeThe primary objective of the Cashier is to distribute money to gaming guests via check cashing and the conversion of gaming instruments into currency, as well as safeguarding company assets while dealing with the public in an efficient and courteous manner. The Cashier shall also process payment of jackpot winnings and safeguard company assets while dealing with employees in an efficient and courteous manner.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities- Safeguard company assets and adhere to cage policies and procedures.
- Maintain accountability for all funds entrusted during assigned shifts.
- Provide prompt, friendly, and courteous service to all guests in a confidential manner.
- Create teamwork by helping co-workers with essential functions.
- Balance all money transactions and paperwork.
- Meet all attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
- Assist with the maintenance and balancing of ticket redemption kiosks.
- Maintain knowledge of Title 31 requirements through annual training.
- Act as a role model and encourage others to represent Crosswinds Casino positively.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Minimum high school graduate or equivalent.
- Prior cash handling experience.
- Ability to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations, including conflicts.
- Data entry, reading, and computer interpretation skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Excellent guest service skills (internal and external).
- Availability to work any day of the week and any shift.
- Well-groomed appearance.
- Prepare, read, and interpret documents; write reports and correspondence; communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
- Compose grammatically correct documents.
- Verbal communication using appropriate English standards.
- Accurately calculate figures and perform relevant mathematical functions.
- Qualify for any and all licenses or permits required by local, state, federal, or Wyandotte Nation law.
- Lift, push, pull, or carry 35 lbs in emergency situations.
- Operate in a smoking environment.
- Smoking restricted to outside location and break times.
- Vision: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment.
- Operate in constant noise levels.
- Ascend/descend flights of stairs throughout the workday.
- Sit, stand, and walk for the entirety of shift.
- Function with blinking/blinding lights.
- Use fingers throughout an eight‑hour shift.
