You have built deep expertise in structured literacy over years of practice. You've trained in Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson, IMSE, or earned a Master's in reading instruction. You listen to a student stumble and immediately identify the phonemic skill to address. You can craft a phonics lesson without a script. That's your baseline. It's not what makes you exceptional.

What makes you exceptional is that young children light up the moment you enter the room. At Alpha, this position demands you be a Guide first: a dynamic, magnetic presence students are excited to learn with. Your structured-literacy background opens the door; your capacity to captivate a K-2 group during a 20-minute session is what earns you the role. If "dynamic, magnetic presence" does not reflect who you are, this role is not the right fit.

Alpha has redesigned traditional education from the ground up. Students advance through academic content independently using AI-adaptive applications — no lectures, no textbooks, no district-mandated pacing. Your position is the one area where a human specialist cannot be replaced. You create targeted small-group reading sessions using live student performance metrics, and you facilitate motivation activities that ensure 100% of your students meet their weekly app targets through Alpha's motivational framework (earned currency, leaderboards, gamified engagement for young learners).

Your early months focus on winning over the classroom. Sessions must be engaging, appropriately leveled, and demonstrably impactful. Student satisfaction metrics and "love your Guide" feedback (goal of 90%+) directly reflect your success. Once you establish that foundation, your responsibilities expand: analyzing AI-generated performance insights to refine upcoming instruction, communicating fluency progress and decoding milestones to families, and influencing how Alpha's K-2 literacy model develops in parallel with adaptive technology.

As Alpha grows into new locations, the systems you establish will define reading instruction across the network.

Before an offer is extended, you will submit a brief video in which you share a captivating story for young children, and you will complete a full day on campus working directly with K-2 students. Low energy with children will disqualify you, regardless of credential strength. This is intentional.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Creating and facilitating small-group K-2 literacy workshops rooted in structured-literacy practices (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, IMSE, or similar), informed by live student performance data
  • Running daily motivational activities that ensure 100% of students achieve their weekly adaptive-app targets, applying Alpha's motivational framework (school currency, leaderboards, age-appropriate gamification)
  • Conducting and interpreting running records, fluency assessments, and decoding checks to monitor progress and refine subsequent instruction
  • Analyzing AI-generated performance insights from Alpha's adaptive platforms to differentiate instruction dynamically, not only during planning periods
  • Serving as the engaging, approachable adult your K-2 students are excited to work with every day
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Implementing a published reading curriculum, scripted instructional program, or district-mandated scope and sequence; you build lessons directly from student data
  • Delivering whole-group lectures; all teaching occurs in targeted, small groups while students complete…
