The VP of Finance leads the resort Finance function and serves as the primary financial strategist and business partner to the Resort President and Senior Leadership Team. The role is accountable for connecting financial insight to operational action, supporting resort profitability, strengthening forecast discipline, and ensuring financial decisions align with resort priorities, regional direction, and enterprise expectations.
The VP of Finance reports directly to the Resort President and maintains Finance functional accountability to the Regional VP of Finance for finance standards, forecasting cadence, risks and opportunities, regional performance narrative, benchmarking, capital planning expectations, process discipline, and finance talent development.
The role is expected to move the resort Finance function beyond reporting results by helping identify root causes, frame options, support decisions, and drive measurable action plans. The VP of Finance should ensure Finance informs and challenges business decisions.
The VP of Finance leads finance team members who support day-to-day financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, analysis, and business partnership across resort operations.
ResponsibilitiesStrategic Finance Leadership & Business Partnership
- Serve as the primary strategic Finance advisor and partner to the Resort President and Senior Leadership Team, providing financial leadership, business insight, and operational context to drive profitability, support enterprise priorities, and improve overall resort performance
- Lead the development and execution of the resort's financial strategy, partnering with regional and corporate Finance leaders to align planning, forecasting, capital investment, performance management, and long-term financial objectives with region and enterprise expectations
- Translate financial results and operations data into actionable business recommendations by identifying performance drivers, evaluating risks and opportunities, informing key decisions, and ensuring clear accountability for measurable outcomes and sustained business improvement.
Business Planning & Performance Management
- Serve as the resort Finance lead for financial performance management, ensuring results, forecasts, risks, and opportunities are clearly understood and connected to measurable action plans.
- Partner with resort leaders and enterprise stakeholders to evaluate strategic initiatives, investments, operating model changes, and to support long-range planning, annual planning, major investment decisions, new revenue opportunities, partnerships, guest experience investments, and operating model changes by assessing financial return, risk, labor impact, capital requirements, and long-term enterprise value.
- Translate resort, operation, and commercial objectives into financial targets, performance metrics, and decision-support frameworks that enable informed business planning while reinforcing accountability among functional leaders for execution and results
Forecasting, Risks & Opportunities, and Business Performance
- Lead the resort forecasting process in partnership with resort, regional, and corporate leadership and support monthly and in-season business reviews with analysis that leads to decisions, owners, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
- Own the resort risks and opportunities process, ensuring financial impacts are clearly quantified, tied to operational drivers, and supported by actionable mitigation or capture plans.
