The Senior Banquet Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the service, setup, execution, and breakdown of banquet functions for up to 200 guests. This position provides leadership to the banquet team and works closely with Culinary, Conference Services, and other hotel departments to ensure the successful execution of events and an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities include scheduling, budgeting, billing, training and developing staff, and maintaining established service and operational standards. The Senior Banquet Manager ensures consistent service and product quality while operating within budgeted guidelines.
Essential Functions:- Provide leadership and day-to-day direction to the banquet team
- Oversee the setup, service, execution, and breakdown of banquet functions
- Ensure banquet events are executed efficiently, professionally, and in accordance with event requirements and established standards
- Review banquet event orders and coordinate event details with Culinary, Conference Services, and other hotel departments
- Schedule banquet team members according to business levels and operational needs
- Train, coach, and develop banquet staff to maintain professional service standards
- Maintain superior knowledge of Food and Beverage policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of Food and Beverage products served throughout the hotel
- Monitor labor, operating expenses, billing, and other departmental costs within budgeted guidelines
- Address guest concerns promptly and professionally to ensure a positive experience
- Support the continued improvement of banquet service standards, procedures, and team performance
- Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol-service requirements
- Promote a positive, professional, and quality-focused work environment by consistently adhering to established standards
- Anticipate and assess guests’ needs and respond in a professional and timely manner
- Attend and contribute to weekly Food and Beverage meetings and event-related meetings
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, management, and other hotel departments
- Assist management and service personnel whenever necessary
