Job Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients.

• Perform physical, social, and psychological assessments (including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as appropriate).
• Seek and evaluate information from interdisciplinary team members (patient, family, physician, non‑nursing disciplines, support staff).
• Collaboratively develop individualized plans of care using assessment information and critical thinking skills.
• Actively involve patient, family, team, and physician in plan development, including education.
• Prepare patients for further support needs (teaching, referrals, follow‑up) once current episode outcomes are met.
• Direct interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration; provide or delegate care in line with the plan of care.
• Prioritize and coordinate patient care delivery, managing time, supplies, and resources effectively.
• Evaluate patient responses to interventions, review goal achievement, clinical outcomes, and satisfaction; revise and reassess as needed.
• Promote nursing profession and participate in development of others, integrating legal and ethical standards, complying with regulatory standards, practicing within scope of licensure, ensuring accurate and timely documentation, and understanding legal implications of care delivery.

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
• Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of employment.
• RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of hire.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Unit‑specific certification as required (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; required as of 4/27/2025.

• Ability to see, read, and interpret information, labels.
• Verbal communication and hearing of alarms and patient needs in emergencies.
• Manual dexterity for handling equipment.
• Frequent computer use and typing for documentation.
• Capability to lift, carry, and move patients, including heavy items.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and navigate crowded environments.

Hours:

0 (variable); hourly rate $35.22 – $53.29, depending on experience.
