Job Summary:

Responsible to lead multiple teams of patrollers in a specific zone for the day-to-day operations on the mountain. This person will oversee the daily ski patrol functions and help coordinate with Patrol Managers and Sr. Manager to facilitate daily projects. Drive a strong safety and guest service culture within Patrol. Participate in daily operations as an advanced patroller, search and rescue or specialty area as needed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Culture:

  • Operations:
    Coordinate and lead a group of 1-2 patrol teams, across the entire mountain in daily patrol operations, under the advisement of The Patrol Leadership Team;
    Hold employees accountable to the Employee Manual, Patrol Manual and current Bargaining Agreement;
    Hold patrollers accountable to the work assigned and to the positive behaviors that reinforce one patrol team and the company culture. Team Leads will be required to deliver positive and constructive feedback to patrollers, including taking disciplinary and corrective action when necessary;
    Conduct timely performance evaluations in alignment with overall input from multiple sources including The Patrol Leadership Team;
    Ensure the Accident Investigation Team is well prepared, trained for the task and follows through with the required steps;
    Assist with special event planning and preparation;
    Successfully complete hiring paperwork, training assistance, and scheduling of seasonal patrollers within given time frames;
    Ensure accountability of patroller development by tracking the training performance and certifications within given deadlines. Identify and immediately communicate to the patrol leadership team when patrollers are falling short of their expectations;
    Assist with maintaining an updated patrol SOP documentation, manuals, and training tools;
    Contribute to the ongoing safety culture
  • Communications:
    Communicate individual and team performance in relation to job duties and behavioral expectations to The Patrol Leadership Team while documenting performance when necessary;
    Communicate team goals, daily expectations and progress to the front line patrollers, improving the department's metrics and measurements throughout the season
  • Legal:
    Immediately inform, consult and take part in conducting necessary investigations of employee complaints, upon HR or The Patrol Leadership Team advisement;
