Responsible for leading multiple patrol teams in a specified zone to ensure day‑to‑day mountain operations. Will oversee daily ski patrol functions, coordinate with Patrol Managers and Sr. Manager to facilitate daily projects, drive a strong safety and guest service culture, and participate as an advanced patroller, in search and rescue or specialty area as needed.

• Coordinate and lead 1–2 patrol teams across the entire mountain in daily operations, under the Patrol Leadership Team
• Enforce Employee Manual, Patrol Manual, and Bargaining Agreement
• Deliver constructive feedback, including disciplinary actions when necessary
• Conduct timely performance evaluations with input from multiple sources
• Ensure Accident Investigation Team is trained, prepared, and follows required steps
• Assist with special event planning and preparation
• Complete hiring paperwork, training assistance, and scheduling of seasonal patrollers within deadlines
• Track training performance and certifications; communicate when patrollers fall short of expectations
• Maintain updated SOP documentation, manuals, and training tools
• Contribute to ongoing safety culture

• Communicate individual and team performance and behavioral expectations to the Patrol Leadership Team, documenting performance when necessary
• Share team goals, daily expectations, and progress with front‑line patrollers to improve metrics and measurements

• Inform, consult, and participate in investigations of employee complaints upon HR or Patrol Leadership Team advisement
• Document and follow up on patroller attendance, FMLA, ADA, or other accommodations with input from HR
• Identify employee issues and resolve inappropriate behaviors immediately, involving stakeholders as needed

• Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned

• High School Degree or equivalent
• Experience as a Patrol Lead or Specialist Ski Patroller at a Vail Resort
• Current OEC certification
• Experience as an Avalanche Route Leader and prior patrol training
• Extensive knowledge of ski patrol operations: medical, trails, scheduling, weather, avalanche, snowmobile, accident investigation, lift evacuation, slope safety
• Extensive knowledge of Park City Operations: snow making, risk management, terrain park, lift maintenance, race crew, lift…
