About the RoleAs Controller, you will report directly to the leadership team. You’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of accounting functions, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across all financial operations. You’ll play a key role in supporting our asset‑based lending, auctions, appraisals, and equipment sales verticals.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all accounting operations, including payroll, 401k transactions, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger management.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Support asset‑based lending activities, including preparing closing statements, monitoring financial covenants, maintaining amortization schedules (including prime rate changes), creating payoff letters, loan servicing, and communication with borrowers.
- Maintaining our loan management software.
- Assist with auction deal statements and appraisal POs and invoicing.
- Drive budgeting and financial modeling across company verticals.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
- Collaborate with all verticals to support business operations and process improvements.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, Quick Books Online, and Dynamics 365 for reporting and analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; CPA necessary.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior Controller or public accounting roles.
- Experience in asset‑based lending is a significant plus.
- Knowledge of auctions and bankruptcy space is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial controls.
- Advanced proficiency in Quick Books Online, Microsoft Excel and Word, and experience with Dynamics 365 or similar CRM.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead and develop accounting teams.
