Base pay range: $37.50/hr - $56.25/hr relocation bonus offered.

Accountable for the day-to-day safe operations and preventative maintenance of the multiplace and/or single hyperbaric chambers. Ensures the unit functions within applicable standards and regulations. Prepares patients for procedures and attends to patients during treatment. Responsible for department staffing mobilization and coordination for hyperbaric, outpatient wound clinic, and inpatient wound care teams in collaboration with department leaders.
Major Responsibilities- Safety Director for the multiplace hyperbaric chamber; ensures compliance with NFPA requirements, coordinates emergency procedure training, and conducts annual HBOT competency assessments.
- Oversees the hyperbaric Preventative Maintenance Program and coordinates vendor visits.
- Develops and implements hyperbaric treatment procedures and protocols with management and Medical Director.
- Oversees hyperbaric quality data collection and action plans.
- Coordinates with Biomedical to inspect and test ancillary equipment prior to use inside chambers.
- Manages technical functions of the hyperbaric department; operates chamber control console and related equipment; assists with repairs as needed.
- Prepares, maintains, and disinfects ancillary equipment and supplies; performs safety checks prior to procedures.
- Adjusts decompression calculations for safety margins; collaborates with Employee Health for staff health screening.
- Provides staff education and communications related to the hyperbaric program; orients and maintains competencies for staff.
- Develops and conducts seminars for hospital staff and participates in teaching hyperbaric medicine courses.
- Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific care and applies department policies accordingly.
- Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) certification (NBDHMT) or CHS (Certified Hyperbaric Specialist, ABWH).
- Safety Director Certificate Course or obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (AHA) within 6 months, unless exempt by department leadership.
- Associate's Degree in Healthcare or related field.
- Typically 5 years of experience in a hyperbaric technician or related position.
- UHMS-approved introductory course in Hyperbaric Medicine.
- Knowledge of NFPA regulations and UHMS guidelines.
- Awareness of CHS/CHWS qualifications and related pathways.
- Experience in program planning, procedures, protocols, and staff training for hyperbaric programs.
- Understanding of physics and gas laws as applied to hyperbaric medicine.
- Strong teaching, training, and communication skills; proficient with computerized control systems and chamber operation; ability to handle patient care and monitoring equipment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, and reach for maintenance and repairs.
- Lift up to 50 lbs; push/pull with 30 lbs of force; ability to transfer patients with assistance.
- Exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical hazards; wear protective clothing as required.
- Possible exposure to compressed air environments with decompression risks.
- Work in enclosed, warm environments with variable temperatures.
