Occupational Therapy (OT) Pool B - Inpatient Rehab

$37.50/hr - $56.25/hr
Major Responsibilities- Interprets physician referrals and evaluates the patient's physical, perceptual, cognitive, social, and vocational abilities and their impact on activities of daily living.
- Establishes a plan of care and implements individual treatment based on evaluation results, functional goals, and appropriate techniques.
- Provides and/or fabricates assistive devices and/or splints to enhance functional independence.
- Monitors and evaluates outcomes and adjusts individualized treatment plans based on patient response; provides status updates to physicians and teammates.
- Identifies factors affecting patient comfort and attends to these needs.
- Plans for and completes patient discharge, including written home programs, patient/family teaching, referrals for community services, transition planning and equipment ordering as indicated.
- Communicates and collaborates with stakeholders to achieve optimum care.
- Completes all required documentation following policy and accreditation standards, including patient evaluations, progress notes, conference reports, and discharge summaries.
- Records patient care and progress for assigned patients; completes daily statistics, billing, and scheduling.
- Applies insurance guidelines regarding authorization and visit counts.
- Maintains site/department productivity standards and adheres to billing and documentation policies.
- Responsible for cleaning up after treatment, putting away equipment, keeping area neat.
- Performs manual techniques, positioning, transferring; demonstrates skill in modalities, exercise equipment, and safety measures.
- Participates in performance improvement activities to improve patient care outcomes.
- Manages caseload and informs leadership of coverage needs.
- Pursues professional growth through continuing education and departmental in‑services.
- Orients new staff and participates in evaluation of coworkers.
- May supervise occupational therapy assistants, extenders, students as required.
Job Requirements
- Education: Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school; maintains continuing education per state requirements.
- Certification/Registration/Licensure: Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of practice;
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers within 90 days unless waived. - Work Experience: No experience required.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Intermediate computer skills; excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; decision‑making and problem‑solving skills; ability to assess data and interpret age‑specific needs.
Physical Requirements &
Working Conditions:
Able to sit, stand, walk, lift, and squat; lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist; lift up to 10 lbs. from waist to overhead; carry up to 40 lbs. at waist height; push/pull 30 lbs.; perform sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with second person; repetitive use of hands; exposure to hazards; may require travel.
