POSITION TITLE: Manager, Website Content
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking an innovative, collaborative and strategic Website Content Manager to help us serve our 35,000+ members and fulfill our mission of protecting people, property and the environment.
The Website Content Manager will play a critical role in ASSP’s digital transformation by leading the creation and management of web content across a newly developed website and content management system (CMS). This role ensures that website content assets, from evergreen program pages to campaign deliverables and education resources, are engaging, accessible, optimized and aligned with ASSP’s business objectives. The Website Content Manager works at the intersection of content strategy, marketing operations, digital marketing and UX.

Team members are expected to be based in Illinois, as occasional in‑person collaboration at our Park Ridge, Illinois headquarters is required.
- Leads the implementation of a website content strategy that supports organizational goals, member engagement and business growth.
- Collaborates with internal teams to identify website content needs and opportunities across programs, events, advocacy and membership.
- Maintains site taxonomy, tagging, and metadata to support discoverability and user experience.
- Sources, edits and publishes high‑quality content for web pages, landing pages and online resource centers, ensuring alignment with the ASSP brand.
- Manages the migration of legacy content into ASSP’s new CMS, ensuring accuracy, consistency and search optimization.
- Acts as a liaison between content creators and technical teams during the website development process.
- Serves as the primary administrator for ASSP’s CMS, managing workflows, permissions and publishing schedules.
- Partners with IT and external vendors to troubleshoot issues and implement website enhancements.
- Collaborates across teams to ensure website layout and functionality enhance the user experience.
- Conducts regular audits to ensure website content quality, accessibility (WCAG compliance) and brand consistency.
- Maintains website content after publication, updating as needed.
- Monitors and reports on website performance using Google Analytics and other relevant software.
- Generates reports on website content engagement and makes data‑driven recommendations for improvement.
- Implements SEO/AI best practices and optimizes content for search visibility.
- Works cross‑functionally with IT, membership, education, foundation and advocacy teams to support digital initiatives.
- Trains staff on CMS usage and content governance policies.
- Stays ahead of website trends and recommends new ways to meet audience needs/create impactful brand experiences.
- Manages ASSP’s website content budget.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Experience managing large‑scale digital projects and content migration initiatives.
- Experience leading content quality assurance and governance with numerous stakeholders.
- UX, digital marketing or content marketing certification preferred.
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and design.
- A creative and data‑driven approach to content development with a commitment to quality.
- Strong strategic/critical thinking skills.
- Basic HTML/CSS knowledge.
- Experience with digital asset management (DAM) systems.
- Understanding of UX principles and member‑centric design.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Trello, ).
