10 hours a week – 2-10 hour shifts a pay period;
Position is paired with a bedside ED RN position;
Hours: 7pm-5am
This position will provide an exclusive focus on clinical excellence. It will include identifying patients in real‑time pertaining to performance improvement (PI) initiatives and contemporaneously intervening with staff members (physicians, nurses, technicians, secretaries) to highlight these patient opportunities and provide support. The position will systematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of clinical practice and analyze appropriate internal and external data to identify opportunities for improving patient care services and achieving outcome excellence.
It also serves to facilitate issues related to patient safety and a team approach to patient care.
- Identifies problems and issues related to clinical quality and patient safety and proposes courses of action to resolve issues by researching and benchmarking solutions.
- Follows patient tracking system in real time to facilitate appropriate care standards and responds to codes as a resource and to assist team members with current care standards.
- Serves as a resource and leader to the multidisciplinary teams to improve clinical performance in disease management and patient outcomes.
- Responsible for professional growth by maintaining knowledge of current care standards, protocols, and best practices.
- Collaborates with unit clinical practice partner on research and educational opportunities.
- Facilitates the development of the multidisciplinary team members.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age‑specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.

- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with Current IL RN license.
- BSN required from an approved program.
- Requires 3 years experience in emergency clinical nursing that includes emergency department, acute care setting, quality improvement.
- Current AHA CPR.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Good computer skills, specifically with Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours according to customer needs.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations.
- Exposure to hazardous materials and life‑threatening diseases possible.
- Demands may occasionally require lifting to 20 pounds and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and responding to multiple simultaneous requests.
- Ability to travel locally.
- Ability to communicate with patients and families.
