American Traveler is hiring a NICU RN for a Level III NICU in a Magnet, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 1.5 years of NICU experience and IL RN licensure.

• Level III NICU within a Level 1 Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Care for premature infants and unstable newborns requiring medical or surgical intervention
• RN to patient ratio of 1:2 with no CNAs on the unit
• 12-hour night shift schedule ), three shifts per week
• Weekend rotation every third weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required between Oak Lawn and Park Ridge campuses to NICU-appropriate assignments, including possible pediatric inpatient or helping hand roles
• Uses EPIC, Pyxis, Alaris, and Phillips monitors
• RT and Neonatologist support available 24/7
• Charge Nurse is free floating with no dedicated tele tech

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent NICU experience required
• Experience with SERVO and HFOV ventilators, traches, chest tubes, and inhaled nitric oxide (iNO)
• Experience with umbilical and arterial lines and drips
• Experience with NG and G-tube enteral feeds
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Candidate DOB and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
• At least one professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

• Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill and premature neonates in a high-acuity environment
• One shift of unit orientation provided with another RN
• Scrubs provided on-site for infection control purposes
• Each patient is assigned their own stethoscope for infection prevention
• Free parking available
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Time off requests must be approved through the unit manager
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
• Former employees of the health system or its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months to be eligible
