We are currently seeking a Tax Senior - Financial Services to join our team in any of the following office locations:
New York, NY;
Park Ridge, NJ. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing firm.
- Run client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects and managing to budget
- Supervise, train, and mentor associates and interns on tax projects and assess performance of staff for engagement reviews; perform in-charge role as needed
- Review tax returns done by staff and make recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities; gain increasing responsibility in review process
- Prepare tax returns for complex individual, trust, partnership, corporate, and foreign tax clients
- Research and consult on various tax matters; utilize tax‑related software to prepare and process returns and research tax matters
- Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities
- Recommend new tax strategies and determine profitability of potential acquisitions and mergers
- Identify areas of tax reductions and savings regularly
- Travel to clients occasionally
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required;
Master’s degree in accounting, taxation, or equivalent - Minimum of 2+ years of progressive tax return preparation and compliance experience
- CPA license or in process of obtaining CPA license
- Proficient with computer software packages and platforms including Microsoft Office Suite, Tax software, Pro Systems Engagement and CCH Axcess
- Strong tax accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, consolidated federal tax returns, partnership returns, and combined state tax returns
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, initiative, and leadership skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet or exceed time constraints and goals
- Ability to work in a team environment, supervise staff and lead projects
- Ability to work additional hours as needed
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and consistently demonstrate respect for others
