We are looking fora Deductions Specialist interested in starting a career with a topranked and growing snack company, as part of our Finance Department at PIM’s Headquarters in Park Ridge, New Jersey.
This position will report to our Director, Accounts Receivable & Credit.
The Specialist will partner with internal and external parties including Customer Service, Sales, Broker partners, operations, and Accounting to identify and resolve valid deductions in High Radius DMS. In this role, you will manage, investigate, and resolve high-volume customer deductions, trade spend claims, and compliance chargebacks. You will play a critical role in recovering company revenue, identifying recurring root causes, auditing trade promotions, and keeping our aging ledger clean, by utilizing our systems: SAP S/4
HANA, TELUS, and High Radius DMS.
- Deduction Management:
Own the end-to-end deduction lifecycle by researching, categorizing, and reconciling high-volume CPG short-payments and deductions using High Radius DMS and SAP S/4
HANA. - Trade Spend Auditing:
Audit and validate customer promotional deductions against authorized trade programs maintained in TELUS. - Dispute and Recovery:
Research and gather documentation—such as bills of lading, proof of delivery (POD), and purchase orders—to aggressively dispute invalid shortage, pricing, and compliance fines. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner closely with Sales, Broker networks, Trade Finance, and Supply Chain teams to identify recurring errors and prevent future deductions. - Ledger Maintenance:
Clear valid deductions against the general ledger or trade accruals in High Radius DMS and provide regular visibility into deduction aging trends and recovery metrics.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience). - Experience:
3–5 years of AR deductions, chargeback management, and trade spend experience specifically within the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) or food and beverage industry. - Technical Systems:
Hands-on experience with SAP S/4
HANA, High Radius DMS, and trade management tools like TELUS are highly preferred. - CPG
Competency:
Direct experience navigating major retail customer portals (e.g., Walmart Retail Link, Target Partners Online, Amazon Vendor Central) to retrieve backups and submit disputes. - Data
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables to analyze large datasets. - Communication:
Confident communication and negotiation skills to handle disputes firmly yet professionally with external and internal account managers. The ability to work with various people and teams in a fast-paced environment. - Soft Skills:
