Administrative Assistant – Elementary & Alternative Education
This role supports the Principal and acts as Office Manager for the school. The Administrative Assistant coordinates and supervises general business activities, oversees staff such as the Health Assistant, Receptionist, Registrar, and bookkeeper, and promotes positive community relations among various stakeholders.
EssentialPhysical Requirements
- Occasional lifting of five to twenty pounds
- Frequent sitting and standing; occasional bending, squatting, reaching, stooping
- Frequent repetitive motion of hands – keyboarding, writing, etc.
Typical educational office setting with overhead lighting and minimal to moderate noise level.
Responsibilities- May prepare and distribute regular and special reports for administration, the district, and the state.
- May maintain the principal's calendar, make appointments, and schedule meetings and conferences.
- Continuously look to improve administrative processes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Maintain files on personnel, including evaluations and confidential information such as emergency contacts and crisis management processes.
- May develop, evaluate, and cross‑train support clerical personnel and make routine decisions.
- Administer first aid to students as a backup to the Health Assistant.
- Maintain proficiency in Workday, Aesop, Infinite Campus, Kronos, and related technologies.
- Coordinate building and staff activities such as beginning and end‑of‑year check‑in/check‑out, back‑to‑school nights, parent‑teacher conferences, building security measures, online student check‑in, etc.
- Assist in maintaining electronic media and the overall calendar of school and community events.
- Manage personnel functions such as substitute teacher assignments, staff leave records, and bookkeeping.
- Draft and produce letters, memoranda, reports, and special projects such as newsletters, handbooks, and related documents, handling highly confidential matters.
- Act as a liaison with district community relations, alerting the district to crisis situations, good news, and student celebrations; actively participate in the school‑based crisis team.

- Minimum Hire Rate: $20.35 USD hourly
- Maximum Hire Rate: $26.92 USD hourly
- Full Salary Range: $20.35 USD – $33.48 USD hourly (prorated for part‑time assignments)
