Position: CM Saturday Children's Programming Coordinator

Purpose Statement

Crossroads Community Church seeks to transform lives through loving relationships with God, each other, and those who don’t know Jesus yet.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for oversight of Saturday Children's Ministry programming for all utilized Children’s Ministry environments, including SPED. It requires recruiting, training, scheduling, implementing and evaluating all aspects of the ministry. In addition, this position also serves as a back-up for Sunday Children’s programming.

  • Exhibits a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as evidenced by the demonstration of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

  • Willing to be a part of Crossroads Community Church and to regularly and consistently attend a weekend worship service.
  • Demonstrates skills in relating to and working with people, especially volunteers, church staff, the congregation and others, within a team environment.
  • Manages personal and family life in such a way they model the teachings of God’s Word.
  • Agrees to abide by the staff handbook and sign the Crossroads Statement of Faith.
  • Able stand and speak clearly for extended time periods; maintain a high level of energy and a positive disposition; and work in teams achieving short and long range goals.
  • Serve as a productive and positive team player with the staff.
  • Must pass the pre-employment background screening.
  • Must attend a Joining Crossroads class.
  • Position Qualifications/Specifications

    Minimum/

    Preferred Experience:

    At least 2 years’ experience managing people; ministry experience is preferred.

    Minimum/

    Preferred Education:

    High school diploma required. College degree in Christian education, children’s ministry or a related field preferred.

  • Above average people skills.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Experience working with children and parents.
  • Ability to anticipate ministry needs and address them.
  • Solid understanding of Crossroads’ purpose, values and priorities.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong team player – able to work well with others both paid staff and volunteers.
  • Employment Status: Part time

    Employment Classification: Non-Exempt

    Hours

    · 8 hours per week; with additional hours seasonally (i.e., Crossroads Kids Camp, Joining Crossroads, holidays and special events as assigned)

    Weekly check-in with supervisor and possible team meeting attendance

    Saturdays required with time-off considered (generally 1 Saturday off per month)

    1 Sunday per month

    Some weekly hours may be completed from home as agreed upon

    Specific Responsibilities, Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide spiritual and ministry leadership modeling Christ-like living and leading. Demonstrating and promoting a culture of spiritual growth, personal management and self-care by:
    • Being attentive to God first, family second and work duties within the boundaries of balanced need,
    • Praying for and with workers, volunteers, families, congregants, CCC staff and their families
    • Attending a weekly worship service as regularly as possible
    • Genuinely caring for and maintaining knowledge of the Children’s Ministry Team, Staff and families of CCC
    • Contribution to the ongoing improvement, development, and positive support of the Children’s Ministry.
  • Oversee all Sunday Camp Love and Camp Grace programming and Camp needs, to include
    • Ensure correct quantity and quality staffing for programming per Camps utilized
    • Schedule and direct program volunteers and staff for and during Saturday programs. The Director of Children’s Ministry (“DCM”) will oversee administrative management functions of staff
    • Ensure curriculum and associated supplies are placed in Camp(s) and Lead teachers have advance copy/knowledge of lessons. Teach lessons if necessary
    • Manage check-in systems for programs, including adding new and editing existing individuals
