SPED Teacher - Moderate Needs Interventionist

Responsible for the provision of an individualized service delivery model that utilizes inclusive practices through a combination of special education support provided in and outside of the general classroom environment.

• Prepare for, attend and communicate student progress during IEP meetings.
• Collaborate with IEP and Assessment Specialist in development of the IEP.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
• May be required to travel within district boundaries.
• Collaborate, communicate, and consult with general education staff regarding modifications, accommodations and curriculum/interventions.
• Responsible for developing, monitoring, and reporting of student Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
• May co‑teach (per chosen model).
• Identify, coordinate, and deliver intervention services as outlined in IEPs.
• May play an active role in manifestation determination meetings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to determine Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) programming.
• Coordinate and monitor student specific and/or program Educational Assistants as assigned.
• Case manager of student needs and parent communication.

Colorado READ Act designation, which can be acquired via the options described at  – Colorado Department of Education, Special Education Generalist License - Colorado Department of Education

Hard to Hire

Licensed position salaries are set based on a three salary schedules;
General, Hard to Hire, and Specialist/Extremely Hard to Hire. DCSD will award up to 7 years of previous licensed teaching experience at the time of hire.  to view the current DCSD Licensed Salary Schedules*.

• * All salary amounts listed on the schedules are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
