Intervention Specialist - Behavior
Job DescriptionThe Intervention Specialist will focus on student behavior and items related to the design, training, implementation, and monitoring of the school’s student behavior system. Collaboration with school administration, counselors and mental health providers, and teachers is critical. The critical skills include the ability to work with a wide range of students in support of their behavior regulation, problem solving, understanding of multiple perspectives, and executive functioning.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Provide leadership, collaboration, and support in the area of restorative strategies at the school and classroom level
- Support students and staff with restorative conversations
- Support students with behavior regulation, problem solving, and understanding multiple perspectives
- Support students with the development of effective functioning skills
- Support the development and implementation of student behavior intervention plans
- Collaboratively monitor effectiveness of the school’s student behavior systems
- Regulary communicate with families about student behavior and supports
- Refer students and families to mental health service providers or counselors when needed
- Collaborate with school administration on appropriate disciplinary actions
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Position Salary Schedule EligibilityHard to Hire
Licensed position salaries are set based on one of three salary schedules;
General, Hard to Hire, and Specialist/Extremely Hard to Hire. DCSD will award up to 7 years of previous licensed teaching experience at the time of hire. to view the current DCSD Licensed Salary Schedules.
- * All salary amounts listed on the schedules are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
