General Description
Speech Language Pathologists in the Leman Classical Organization serve scholars entitled to special education services across all levels (K-8) who require universal, targeted, and intensive intervention. Candidates must have demonstrated knowledge of speech language and social language development, behavior management within the context of the general education and special education classroom, consultation, and developmental needs of school aged children and adolescents.
- Assess and provide research-based intervention to scholars with a suspected speech language impairment.
- Collaborate to design Individual Education Programs that implement evidence-based differentiated and innovative instruction aligned to the Guaranteed Viable Curriculum (GVCs) to support academic growth, positive social relationships, functional communication, and positive behavior for learning to promote educational access.
- Demonstrate effective case management skills; effective written and oral communication skills; ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with school personnel, scholars, and parents; empathy necessary for working with scholars and families; and teamwork.
- Minimum of a Master’s in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Sciences Disorders from an accredited college.
- Colorado School Speech Language Pathologist License.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.

- Our teachers are integral parts of their school and the school community, performing duties including scholar support, counseling scholars with academic problems, and supporting extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs, and scholar organizations.
- Participate in department and school meetings and parent meetings.
- Manage scholar behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures, maintaining discipline in accordance with school policy, and applying appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary.
- maintain accurate and complete records of scholars' progress and development; prepare required reports on scholars and activities.
- Utilize technology to provide learning materials and resources, instruct and monitor scholars in the use of materials and equipment, observe, evaluate, encourage and provide feedback on performance and development.
- Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences and establish clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Plan, organize and implement an instructional program that guides scholars to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
