Technical Project Manager, Automation, NA
Vantage Data Centers is looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to support and facilitate the successful completion of automation projects within our Technology & Systems department.
Job responsibilities and requirements are outlined below.
As a key contributor, you will manage technical leadership regarding automation design, engineering, and construction interfacing, ensuring alignment with project partners and adherence to Vantage’s Automation Execution Playbook.
Responsibilities- Lead automation project design and engineering activities across regions, collaborating with EOR, design integration teams, and construction partners.
- Support pre‑bid planning, coordination and execution strategies to ensure quality design and engineering deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and issue mitigation during design, engineering, commissioning, and factory acceptance testing.
- Coordinate automation design deliverables, including specifications, IFCs, SOOs, PLC, SCADA, and other programming/software.
- Maintain documentation: RFIs, transmittals, submittals, change requests, project plans, status updates.
- Run meetings and provide remote/onsite project support to ensure delivery on schedule.
- Support sales, design engineering, and services to develop project requirements based on market or customer needs.
- Coordinate FWT and software bench testing as required.
- Balance multiple automation technical scopes, schedules and stakeholder relationships.
- Ensure alignment with Vantage’s global standards in all automation activities.
- 10+ years in Building Management System (BMS) design, integration, commissioning, or technical leadership.
- BS in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
- Experience with PLC/SCADA application engineering, Allen‑Bradley and Ignition preferred.
- Data Center or Mission Critical project experience preferred.
- PMP certification preferred (not required).
- Experience with instrumentation and controls.
- Proficiency in MS Project, MS Office, and MS SharePoint.
- 25% travel expected.
- Salary range: $130k–$160k plus bonus.
