An engineering consulting firm specializing in Federal facility renovations is seeking a Facility Condition Assessment Engineer to support a large federal project assessing hospitals, cemeteries, and other government facilities across 17 states
. This position is open due to a major project award and offers the opportunity to join a team of 3-5 professionals conducting facility assessments over the next 14 months.
This individual will travel approximately 2 weeks per month performing onsite building assessments, with the remaining time spent organizing data, uploading field documentation, and preparing reports. While onsite, you will evaluate and document building systems including HVAC, plumbing, structural components, roofing, windows, roads, grading, and other facility assets. Information collected will support facility condition reports and as-built documentation.
All travel expenses are covered, including airfare, hotels, mileage, parking, and per diem. Candidates can start as early as late August, with field work beginning in October.
Must-Haves- 2+ years of experience in commercial facility assessments, building inspections, facilities maintenance, construction, architecture, engineering, or property condition assessments
- Ability to travel 50% of the time (2 weeks per month) for the duration of the project
- Experience documenting building conditions through inspections, reports, photos, or field observations
- Familiarity with commercial building systems (HVAC, plumbing, structural, roofing, architectural, civil/site)
- Strong computer and data entry skills
- Valid Driver's License
- Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) experience
- Federal, healthcare, hospital, or government facility experience
- Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Facilities-related degree
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, GIS, or facility management software
